This guide explains how brand owners can configure Discord settings within a campaign on Growi β from requiring account verification to automatically creating private channels for approved creators.
Before You Start
Your Discord server must already be created and you must have admin permissions.
Connect your server to Growi first: go to Settings > Integrations and link your Discord server.
Discord settings only appear after your server is connected.
Step 1: Require Creators to Link Their Discord Account
This is the master toggle. Turning it on activates all Discord features for the campaign and requires every creator to authenticate their Discord account before applying.
Open your campaign and under details and advanced tab, scroll to the Discord Functionality section.
Toggle on Require the creator to link their Discord account.
Creators without a Discord account will need to create one before they can submit an application.
Step 2: Require a Specific Discord Role (Optional)
Use this to gate applications to creators who already hold a specific role in your Discord server.
Toggle on Require creator to have a specific Discord role.
Select the required role from the dropdown (e.g. Growi Team).
Click Refresh roles if your roles are not showing up.
Note: Creators who do not hold the selected role will be blocked from applying.
Step 3: Auto-Assign a Discord Role on Approval
When a creator is approved, Growi will automatically assign them a role in your Discord server β no manual action needed.
Toggle on Automatically add Discord roles upon approval.
Select the role(s) to assign from the dropdown (e.g. Business Owners).
Click Refresh roles if needed.
Note: Create a dedicated role in Discord for approved creators beforehand, such as "Active Creator" or "Campaign Partner".
Step 4: Auto-Create a Private Channel on Approval
Growi can automatically create a private Discord channel between your team and each approved creator. This removes the need to manually set up channels for every creator.
Configure Team Access
Toggle on Automatically create private channel upon approval.
Select the team role(s) that should have access to the channel (e.g. Business Owners). Only members with this role will see the creator's private channel.
Click Refresh roles if needed.
Assign a Channel Category (Optional)
Use the category dropdown to place all auto-created channels under a specific category in your server (e.g. tickets).
Click Refresh categories if your categories are not appearing.
Note: If no category is selected, channels will be created at the top level of your server.
Set a Welcome Message (Optional)
You can write a message that is automatically sent into the private channel when it is created.
Scroll to the Private channel message field.
Type your message. Use {{creator}} to automatically @ mention the creator.
Example: Welcome {{creator}}! Great to have you with us, let's start cooking!
Note: Use this message to share your brief, expectations, or next steps with the creator right away.
Step 5: Assign Roles Based on TikTok Shop GMV Tiers
If your campaign is linked to TikTok Shop, you can assign different Discord roles to creators based on their 30-day GMV performance tiers.
Click Configure next to Assign Discord roles based on TTS GMV tiers.
Set up the GMV thresholds and map each tier to a Discord role.
Note: This feature requires your TikTok Shop to be linked to Growi.
