Method | When to use it |
Campaign | You want to onboard many creators at once under the same terms. One campaign can have dozens or hundreds of creators. A single invite link is shared with all of them. |
Contract | You are working with one creator and want to set custom terms, a unique compensation structure, or require them to sign a document. Each contract is one creator only. |
Part 1: Onboarding Creators via a Campaign
Step 1: Go to Your Campaigns
In the left sidebar, click Onboard Creators.
Click Campaigns. This opens your campaigns dashboard where all active and past campaigns are listed.
Step 2: Choose a Campaign
Find the campaign you want to add creators to. Each campaign card shows the campaign name, date range, creator count, and post tracking status.
Note: You can only add creators to campaigns that are currently active. If the campaign card does not show an Add creators button, the campaign may have ended or been paused.
Step 3: Click Add Creators
On the campaign card, click the Add creators button. A panel will open asking you to choose how you want to invite creators.
Step 4: Choose an Invitation Method
Growi offers three invitation methods. Choose the one that best fits how you want to work with this group of creators.
Method 1: Share Username Only (Recommended)
Creators enter their username directly — no social account login required. This is the simplest method and works well when you do not need audience insights or TikTok Spark codes.
What creators will do:
Enter their name, email, and usernames.
Detail |
|
Best for | Quick onboarding where audience data is not required. |
Limitation | Instagram Stories tracking and TikTok Spark code auto-generation require linked accounts. These features will not be available for creators who join via username only. |
To invite creators using this method:
Select Share Username Only in the Choose How to Invite panel.
Select the language you want the invite page to display in from the Language dropdown.
Click Copy Link. A unique invite URL is generated.
Share the link with your creators via email, DM, or any channel you prefer.
Method 2: Link Social Account (Best Insights)
Creators sign in with their social account — similar to signing in with Google. This verifies account ownership and unlocks full audience insights. Growi only requests read-only access and never posts on their behalf.
What creators will do:
Choose their platform.
Approve read-only access.
Confirm their contact and payout details.
Detail |
|
Best for | Campaigns where you want verified account ownership and full audience analytics. |
Access level | Read-only. Growi never posts, comments, or takes any action on behalf of the creator. |
Payouts | Growi can handle payouts and tax forms for creators who join via this method. |
To invite creators using this method:
Select Link Social Account in the Choose How to Invite panel.
Select the language from the Language dropdown.
Click Copy Link. A unique invite URL is generated.
Share the link with your creators.
Method 3: Add Creators Manually (Not Recommended)
You paste creator profile URLs or usernames directly into Growi. No public invite link is generated and creators do not go through an onboarding flow.
What happens:
You paste profile URLs or usernames, one per line.
Creators are added directly to your campaign.
Detail |
|
Best for | Last resort only — when you cannot send an invite link and still need to track a creator's content. |
Limitation | Creators added manually cannot be paid through Growi. To pay them later, you must send them an invite link so they can join properly. |
Payouts | Growi charges 0% processing fees and handles tax forms once creators join via link. Manually added creators are excluded from this until they join via link. |
To add creators manually:
Select Add Creators Manually in the Choose How to Invite panel.
In the Creator URLs field, paste the profile URLs or usernames — one per line. For example: https://www.tiktok.com/@username
Click Add Creators.
Important: Creators added this way cannot be paid through Growi until they join via an invite link. Only use this method when absolutely necessary.
Invitation Method Comparison
| What creators do | Key limitations |
Share Username Only (Recommended) | Enter name, email, and usernames. Confirm contact and payout details. | No Instagram Stories tracking or TikTok Spark code auto-generation. |
Link Social Account (Best Insights) | Choose platform, approve read-only access, confirm contact and payout details. | Requires creators to authorize their social account. Read-only access only. |
Add Creators Manually (Not Recommended) | No action required from creator. | No payouts or tax forms through Growi until the creator joins via invite link. No public invite link generated. |
Part 2: Onboarding Creators via a Contract
A Contract is a one-to-one agreement between you and a single creator. It uses the same compensation structures as campaigns but lets you set fully custom terms and optionally require a signature from the creator.
Step 1: Go to Contracts
In the left sidebar, click Onboard Creators.
Click Contracts. This opens the Contracts page, which lists all existing contracts and shows summary stats at the top: expected posts, posts delivered, and remaining.
Step 2: Create a New Contract
In the top right corner of the Contracts page, click Add contract.
The contract builder will open. You will see a six-step flow at the top: Type, Store and duration, Campaign requirements, Compensation and payout, Details and advanced, and Review.
Step 3: Fill in Contract Information
The first screen is the Contract Information step. Fill in the following:
Field | What to do |
Creator | Search for and select the creator from the dropdown. The creator must already exist in your Growi account. If they do not, you will need to add them first. |
Contract Template | Choose whether to use Growi's default template or a custom template you have created. Toggle Require signature on if you want the creator to sign the contract before it becomes active. |
Require signature | When enabled, the contract will have a Pending Signature status until the creator signs. The creator receives a link to review and sign the document. |
Note: Growi's sample agreement is provided as a starting point. Review it carefully and use it at your own discretion.
Step 4: Select a Compensation Type
After filling in the contract information, select the type of compensation structure you want to use for this contract. The same structures available for campaigns are available here, with one exception.
Compensation type | Available for contracts? |
Fixed payment for total posts | Yes |
Performance-Based | Yes |
Fixed payment for total posts & Performance-Based bonus | Yes |
TikTok Shop Retainer (based on past 30d GMV) | Yes |
Pay Per Post | Yes |
TikTok Lives | Yes |
TikTok Shop Contest | Not available for contracts |
Note: TikTok Shop Contest is only available as a Campaign, not as a Contract. This is because contests are designed for multiple creators competing simultaneously.
Step 5: Complete the Contract Setup
After selecting the compensation type, the remaining steps — Store and duration, Campaign requirements, Compensation and payout, Details and advanced — are identical to the equivalent campaign setup steps. Refer to the individual campaign type guides for full details on each step.
Step 6: Invite the Creator
Once the contract is created, we'll automatically invite the creator by their email as mentioned in step 3
Note: For contracts, the invite link is sent to one person only. Unlike campaigns, there is no shared public link for multiple creators to use.
